Govt directs airlines to keep 60% seats on flights free of cost for selection

Gurpreet Singh :- In a significant relief for the air travellers, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has directed the airlines to ensure that at least 60 per cent of seats on the flights are allocated free of cost for selection. The development comes in a bid to curb extra charges on seat selection by the airlines.   Several airlines had been charging additional fees for preferred seat selection after ticket booking or during web check-in. Ex-Congress councillor’s nephew shot at by unknown assailants in Amritsar

Gurpreet Singh :- In another firing incident reported from Punjab's Amritsar district, former Congress councillor Lakahnpal's nephew was shot at by unknown assailants. He was standing outside his house with his sister and feeding stray dogs when a miscreant arrived on a scooter and suddenly opened fire.  The attacker fled the spot immediately after firing while the youth was rushed to the hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment. The incident occurred late at night around 11 pm in the Chheharta area. Soon after reeiving the information, police reached the spot and launched investigation into the matter.
