Himachal Pradesh (National Times): With the water level at Pong Dam rising beyond the critical threshold of 1,396 feet, the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) has announced the release of 1.10 lakh cusecs of water into the Beas River at 2 PM today. In response, a high alert has been issued across downstream areas in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. The dam, located in Kangra district, has witnessed a sharp increase in water inflow due to persistent rainfall in the upstream catchment areas.
