Brampton (Rajeev Sharma): Peel Regional Police have arrested a 41-year-old man who was wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that took place in Brampton in 2024.
The incident occurred around 4 a.m. on May 11, 2024, near the intersection of Kennedy Road and Stafford Drive. Emergency crews responded to reports of gunfire and found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a trauma centre, where he later died from his injuries.
The victim was later identified as 43-year-old Dayne Gordon of Toronto.
Police had previously issued a Canada-wide warrant for Winardo Winteria Morris in relation to the case. On February 9, 2026, Morris was taken into custody and formally charged with first-degree murder.
Authorities confirmed that the accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
