Gangtok, May 31, 2025 — Torrential rains have severely hampered rescue operations in North Sikkim, where around 500 tourists remain stranded. Authorities were forced to halt the search for eight individuals reported missing in the region due to deteriorating weather conditions and rising water levels.Relentless rainfall has triggered landslides and flooding in several parts of the district, cutting off access routes and damaging key infrastructure.
