Toronto Police Arrest Man After Early Morning Stabbing in West End

Toronto (Ontario): Toronto Police have arrested a man in his 50s following a violent altercation at a residence in the city’s west end early Sunday morning. Emergency services were called to a home in the vicinity of Ossington Avenue and Harbord Street shortly before 6:10 a.m. after reports of a physical dispute. Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman in her 20s suffering from injuries consistent with being slashed by an edged weapon.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with injuries that officials have described as non-life-threatening. The suspect, a man in his 50s, was also taken to the hospital following his arrest, though police did not specify the nature of his injuries. In a separate development related to the scene, paramedics confirmed that a second individual was rushed to the hospital for an unrelated medical issue and remains in serious but stable condition.

As of Sunday afternoon, the specific circumstances leading up to the stabbing remain unclear. Toronto Police have not yet disclosed whether there was a pre-existing relationship between the suspect and the victim. Investigators remained on the scene throughout the morning to collect evidence and speak with potential witnesses in the residential neighbourhood.
