National Times Bureau, May 25, 2025: In a stunning display of power hitting and disciplined bowling, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) crushed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by a massive 110-run margin in today’s IPL 2025 clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. The win capped off SRH’s season on a positive note, even though the team narrowly missed out on a playoff berth.
The highlight of the match was Heinrich Klaasen’s whirlwind knock of 100 runs off just 37 balls, equalling the joint third-fastest century in IPL history. His innings, filled with explosive sixes and calculated aggression, formed the backbone of SRH’s imposing total of 278/3 — the third-highest score ever recorded in IPL history.
Klaasen was ably supported by Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, both of whom played brisk innings to keep the scoreboard ticking. SRH’s innings was marked by relentless intent, making it nearly impossible for KKR bowlers to gain any control.
In reply, KKR faltered early under the scoreboard pressure. The SRH bowling unit, led by Jaydev Unadkat and young Harsh Dubey, kept the opposition batters in check, picking up regular wickets. KKR was eventually bowled out for 168 in 18.4 overs, suffering one of their heaviest defeats this season.
Despite the loss, KKR has already secured a spot in the playoffs, but the defeat raises concerns about their form heading into the final stretch. For SRH, the win not only restores pride but also showcases the potential within the squad for the next season.
