Jaito, September 6 – The Shaheedi Nagar Kirtan, dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, set out from Gurdwara Dhobri Sahib in Assam and today proceeded from Gurdwara Damdama Sahib (Akal Academy), Gomti Pul, Puranpur, towards its next destination, Gurdwara Sri Nanakmata Sahib in Uttarakhand.

Before the departure, religious congregations were held at Gurdwara Sahib, where renowned ragi jathas recited Gurbani Kirtan. Granthi Singh Sahib Giani Keval Singh of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib and Head Preacher Bhai Sarabjit Singh Dhotian addressed the sangat, sharing historical insights about Sikh heritage. During the event, the organizers honored the Panj Pyare, Nishanchis, and other distinguished personalities with siropao (robes of honor).

Today, the Nagar Kirtan traveled from Gurdwara Damdama Sahib through Sahgarh, Pilibhit, Majhola, Khatima, and Jhankat before reaching Gurdwara Sri Nanakmata Sahib in Uttarakhand. Along the route, devotees warmly welcomed the Nagar Kirtan, offering Rumala Sahib to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji as a mark of reverence. The yatra evoked great enthusiasm among local communities, who joined to pay homage to Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib’s supreme sacrifice.
The Nagar Kirtan will stay overnight at Gurdwara Sri Nanakmata Sahib, Uttarakhand, and on September 7 will move towards Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Model Town, Bareilly.

Prominent personalities present included SGPC member Bhai Ajaib Singh Abhiyasi, S. Amarjit Singh Bhalaipur, S. Amarjit Singh Bandala, Meet Secretary S. Gurnam Singh, Incharge S. Jagjit Singh, S. Simranjit Singh Kang, Chief Gurdwara Inspector S. Jagdish Singh Butter, Incharge Sikh Mission Uttarakhand Bhai Sukhwinder Singh, Meet Manager S. Ravinderjit Singh, Head Preacher Bhai Sarabjit Singh Dhotian, and Gurdwara Committee members S. Jagjit Singh, S. Balbir Singh, and Dr. Joginder Singh, along with a large number of devotees.
